In 1998, electricity became available in a remote village in central Vietnam. Since then, life expectancy has increased from 60 to 75 years. The economy of the province has historically relied on agriculture and fishing, but in recent years has seen significant industrialization. The economy shift had major effects on improving food supply, living standards and providing a reliable income.
